This American Life explores the impact of society’s expectations

This American Life from National Public Radio in America explored the impact that people’s expectations can have on people physically.

They did this through the story of Daniel Kish who is blind, but has taught himself to safely navigate by clicking with his tongue.

It’s a thought provoking exploration of a topic that is close to all our heart’s at Fighting Chance.

You can listen to it on the This American Life website or in the Soundcloud window below.

The episode has triggered a lot of debate, including a piece in the New Yorker and on Twitter under the hashtag #TAL544.
