We were thrilled to launch the 2015 Tour de Chance with Trish Noakes, CEO of the Tour’s gold partner Just Better Care, as part of celebrations for International Day of People with Disability at our Frenchs Forest work hub.
The Tour de Chance is Fighting Chance’s annual awareness and fundraising campaign that enables Australians from all walks of life to make an extraordinary difference to the lives of young people with significant disabilities.
From 28 February to 8 March, 24 amazing riders will cycle over 1,100km from Brisbane to Sydney. Passing through and stopping in the Gold Coast, Ballina, Grafton, Bellingen, Scotts Head, North Haven, Nelson Bay and The Entrance our riders are aiming to raise $400,000, which would take the Tour’s fundraising total over the last three years beyond $800,000.
Visit the 2015 Tour de Chance website to learn more and donate to riders.
Money raised will help us to take our first step toward national expansion by opening two new premises and increasing the number of employment opportunities created through our Avenue and Jigsaw social businesses from 40 to 120. Learn more about Avenue and Jigsaw.
In addition to fundraising, we hope to engage the wider community in discussion around the great possibilities of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and develop strategic partnerships with other disability service providers and community leaders.
The 2015 Tour de Chance would not be possible without the support of our gold partner Just Better Care and corporate partners: Accident and Health International, Aerosure, Airservices, BTAS, Byron Bay Coffee Company, Hantomeli Foundation, Mitsubishi, QBE, Smartsalary, Veloton and Willis.
